Dear Oooh Family,
Today, I have some heartbreaking news to share: Oooh is shutting down after nearly six years of fun, creativity, and community.
I know this is sudden, and I want to personally thank each of you for being part of this journey. You made Oooh a place full of joy, laughter, competition and, most importantly, connection like never before. Your feedback, high scores, videos, stories, and enthusiasm helped us build something truly special. From the very beginning, we set out to create a new and different social space, and thanks to you, we were able to do just that.
Unfortunately, despite our efforts over the last few months, we were unable to raise the additional funds needed to continue operating Oooh. We explored every possible avenue, but the challenges we faced are still shocking even now writing this. I’m incredibly sorry we couldn’t continue to bring this vision to life, and I know this news is difficult for many of you, as it is for all of us.
Our team gave everything we had to keep Oooh going. We fought until the very end, but in the end, we simply ran out of time and resources. Many of our team members have been with the company for more than five years, and I couldn’t be prouder of the hard work, passion, heart and sacrifice they - and their families who stood by them - put into building this app alongside you.
Though this chapter of Oooh is ending, I still believe there’s something valuable in what we created together, and I hope that in the future, others will take inspiration from our journey and build something even greater in this space. We may not have reached the finish line, but the memories and connections we’ve made along the way will last.
Thank you again for all your support, for showing up every day, and for helping us make Oooh what it was. If there's anything more to share I'll update this post as we continue to wind things down, but for now, I just want to say—thank you. It has been a true honor.
